Shopify Store Launch Checklist: 15 Things to Do Before You Go Live

Launching a Shopify store is exciting — but going live with missing details can cost you sales, trust and ad money. Before you share your store link with the world, go through this 15-point launch checklist. It covers everything from design and products to payments, shipping and marketing.

Store setup and design

1. Choose a fast, mobile-friendly theme

Most of your visitors will shop on their phone. Pick a clean theme, keep the homepage simple, and test every page on a real mobile device.

2. Add your logo, colors and favicon

Consistent branding makes a new store look trustworthy. Upload a sharp logo, set your brand colors and add a favicon so your store looks professional in browser tabs.

3. Write a clear homepage message

In one line, tell visitors what you sell and why they should buy from you. Add a strong button like Shop Now or View Collection.

Products

4. Use high-quality product photos

Show products from several angles, on a clean background, with at least one lifestyle photo. Good photos are one of the biggest factors in online sales.

5. Write helpful product descriptions

Cover size, material, benefits and care instructions. Answer the questions a customer would ask in a shop.

6. Set prices, variants and inventory

Double-check every price, size and color option, and turn on inventory tracking so you never sell out-of-stock items.

7. Organize products into collections

Group products logically — by category, season or best sellers — so customers can find what they want in a few taps.

Payments, shipping and policies

8. Set up payment methods

Offer the payment options your customers trust. For many stores in Pakistan, that includes Cash on Delivery alongside cards and local payment methods.

9. Configure shipping zones and rates

Decide where you ship, how long delivery takes and what it costs. Clear shipping information reduces abandoned carts.

10. Add store policies

Publish your refund, return, shipping and privacy policies, and link them in the footer. Customers check these before buying from a new store.

11. Place a test order

Buy one of your own products from start to finish — on mobile — to check checkout, confirmation emails and order notifications.

Marketing and tracking

12. Connect your domain

Use your own domain (like yourbrand.com) instead of the default myshopify address. It builds trust and helps SEO.

13. Install tracking

Set up Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel and Google Ads conversion tracking before you spend on ads, so every sale is measured.

14. Prepare basic SEO

Write unique page titles and meta descriptions for your homepage, collections and best products, and add alt text to images.

15. Plan your launch promotion

Prepare launch posts for Instagram and Facebook, a small ad budget and a launch offer to get your first orders and reviews.
