Most businesses don’t fail on social media because of bad ideas — they fail because they post randomly, disappear for weeks and then rush to post something at the last minute. The fix is simple: plan a full month of content in one focused day. Here is the step-by-step system we use for brands.
Step 1: Set one clear goal for the month
Decide what you want this month’s content to do. Pick one main goal:
- Get more enquiries or WhatsApp messages
- Promote a new product, service or offer
- Build trust with reviews and behind-the-scenes content
- Grow followers and reach for a new brand
Every post you plan should support this goal in some way.
Step 2: Choose your content pillars
Content pillars are 3–5 themes you rotate between, so your feed stays varied but focused. For example:
- Educate — tips, how-tos and common mistakes
- Show — products, services and results
- Prove — reviews, testimonials and case studies
- Connect — team, behind-the-scenes and your story
- Sell — offers, launches and clear calls-to-action
Step 3: Decide how often you’ll post
Consistency beats volume. A realistic plan for most small businesses is 3–5 posts per week plus regular stories. Choose a schedule you can actually keep for the whole month.
Step 4: Fill your content calendar
Open a simple spreadsheet or calendar and add, for each day you post:
- Date and platform (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn)
- Content pillar
- Format — Reel, carousel, single image or story
- Topic and hook (the first line that grabs attention)
- Caption, hashtags and call-to-action
Don’t forget important dates in your market — Ramadan, Eid, 14 August, Black Friday, 11.11 and seasonal sales can all become strong content themes.
Step 5: Batch-create your content
Instead of creating one post at a time, work in batches:
- Write all captions in one sitting
- Design all graphics using the same brand template
- Film several short videos on the same day
- Edit Reels together so they share a consistent style
Batching saves hours every week and keeps your brand looking consistent.
Step 6: Schedule everything
Use Meta Business Suite (free) to schedule Instagram and Facebook posts in advance. Once scheduled, your content goes out automatically — even on your busiest days.
Step 7: Engage and review results
Posting is only half the job. Reply to comments and messages quickly, and at the end of the month check:
- Which posts got the most saves, shares and comments
- Which posts brought messages or enquiries
- Which format (Reels, carousels, images) performed best
Use these insights to plan an even better month next time.
